Buying optical filters through a supplier
Some procurement teams source optical filters through a supplier rather than directly from a manufacturer. This page serves that buying route. It does not repeat specification tables, because documented deep specifications exist only for fluorescence filters and neutral density filters, and those tables belong on their own pages. The job of this page is to help a buyer write an inquiry that a supplier can act on without further rounds of clarification.
What a supplier inquiry should contain
A supplier inquiry should name the product line, the application, and the parameters that decide fit: centre wavelength or wavelength range, bandwidth or pass band behaviour, cut-off depth where it applies, size and shape, and substrate material. For fluorescence work, add the dye or probe name from the documented list. For neutral density work, add the ND value and the wavelength range. For prisms and lenses, add the model description, size, and material. Then state the quantity basis and the delivery basis you need confirmed. A supplier who receives those items can check availability and specification against the listed lines; a supplier who receives only a product name cannot.
